To everyone that has been affected by the devastating bushfires across New South Wales, and Australia, we express our support and deepest condolences.

At this point in time, Sir Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Bathurst concert, scheduled for Wednesday 22 January, will be going ahead as planned. Patron and staff safety is of the utmost concern and we will be working with local and regional fire authorities and other emergency stakeholders, to monitor the situation in the coming days.

Any updates to the Carrington Park show will be posted to this page and Chugg Entertainment’s Facebook.

SECURITY CHECKS

  • We recommend you get to the venue in good time before the start of the show, as extensive security screening will be in place at the point of entry.
  • Explosives sweeps will be conducted at the venue.
  • There are no pass-outs available for this event.
  • See below for a list of prohibited items. Any prohibited items will be confiscated. Confiscated items will not be returned, replaced or reimbursed.

BAG SIZES/CHAIRS NOT PERMITTED

  • Backpacks of any size will not be permitted.
  • Only small bags up to 30cm x 30cm x 10cm in size will be allowed into the venue.
  • All patrons with bags will be subject to bag checking and other security measures at the external entry gate upon arrival at the venue. To make your entry as quick as possible, we encourage patrons to leave bags at home.
  • No chairs, blankets or cushions of any kind are permitted in the Standing On The Hill section. 

OTHER

  • While reserved seating is available at this concert, please note that patrons may stand or be encouraged to stand during the performance. Please be considerate of those around you and have a great night!
  • We are expecting a capacity crowd for this show, so ask everyone in the Standing On The Hill section to please be mindful of patrons around you. We want everyone to have a great time!
  • Elton John will be the biggest concert to be held at Carrington Park. Please understand that services will be at capacity and expect delays getting to and from the venue. Things to consider:
    • Roads around the immediate precinct will be closed limiting access for parking close to the concert
    • Carpool, walk and use public transport to and from the venue
    • Be patient when leaving and be mindful of traffic when crossing roads
  • There are limited ATM facilities at the venue, so come prepared with enough cash for the evening. EFTPOS will be available at all bars and merchandise outlets, but can’t be guaranteed at food vendors.

  • Concert tickets
  • Valid photo ID

  • Jacket or poncho for inclement weather. Umbrellas, sun shades and tents will not be permitted.
  • Sunscreen and sun hat
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Small personal cameras and camera phones are permitted. Professional cameras with detachable lenses and all video recording devices (including GoPros, iPads and tablets) are not permitted.
  • There will be free water refill stations available at the venue. Patrons may bring in empty soft refillable water bottles no larger than 600ml in size. 
  • You cannot bring in any container or item deemed by Event staff (in their discretion) to be potentially dangerous (e.g. can be used as a missile)
  • There are limited ATM facilities at the venue, so come prepared with enough cash for the evening. EFTPOS will be available at all bars and merchandise outlets, but can’t be guaranteed at food vendors.

Any prohibited items will be confiscated. Confiscated items will not be returned, replaced or reimbursed.

Prohibited Items are not allowed into the venue. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Chairs, blankets or cushions of any kind
  • Backpacks of any size
  • Bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 10cm in size
  • All beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). There will be free water refill stations available at the event.
  • Food
  • Glass (jars, bottles, containers, mirrors, perfumes, etc.)
  • Metal and hard plastic containers (drink bottles, cups, etc.)
  • Soft refillable water bottles larger than 600ml in size
  • Hydration packs and reservoirs (e.g. Camelbaks)
  • Audio or video recording devices (including GoPro and similar)
  • iPads and tablets
  • Professional photography equipment (e.g. telephoto lenses; any lens over 20cm; any detachable lens; stands or other commercial equipment or anything deemed by Event staff to be professional photography equipment)
  • Monopods, tripods or attachment sticks (selfie-sticks)
  • Air horns
  • Weapons or explosives of any kind (including potential missiles)
  • Illegal substances
  • Animals (excluding service dogs such as guide dogs and police or emergency service dogs)
  • Nitrous oxide bulbs and canisters
  • Flares, fireworks, sparklers explosives, or any fire twirling equipment
  • Fires and open flames
  • Flammable liquids
  • Musical instruments
  • Sound systems
  • Portable laser equipment and pens
  • Sharpies, markers, paint cans or paint pens
  • Drones or other remote-control devices
  • Anything studded (i.e. belts, wristbands etc.)
  • Skateboards, scooters, wagons, carts, rollerblades, roller skates, bicycles, quad-bikes, segways, hoverboards, self-balancing scooters or any personal motorised vehicles
  • Unauthorised solicitation materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, give-aways, samples, or other promotional items
  • Eskies, coolers or any hard food and beverage storage vessels
  • Umbrellas
  • Confetti or shredded paper
  • Large flags or banners
  • Kites or sky lanterns
  • Toy guns, water guns or slingshots
  • Prams, pushers, strollers, baby capsules, car seats or bassinets
  • Any other item deemed by Event staff (in their discretion) to be dangerous or offensive or potentially dangerous

Any prohibited items will be confiscated. Confiscated items will not be returned, replaced or reimbursed.

Getting There

  • Roads around the immediate precinct will be closed, limiting access for parking close to the concert.
  • Leave the car at home: Special bus services will run between Kelso, Eglinton, Windradyne and South Bathurst and the concert precinct for a gold coin donation.
  • We recommend walking to the venue if you live nearby.
  • If you are driving: Park and Ride options are available from Mount Panorama and Hereford Street. Park your car and catch a 5 minute bus to and from the venue for a gold coin donation.
  • Avoid parking in the CBD: Parking will be limited and is expected to fill up early. Access to roads will be restricted with high volumes of pedestrian traffic.

Entering The Venue

  • Entry to Carrington Park will be via Howick and Durham Streets.
  • Patrons can enter via any gate.

Leaving The Venue

  • Be patient when leaving the venue.
  • Look and follow signs for buses, taxis and ubers; they will only pick up from the designated areas.
  • Be mindful of traffic when crossing roads.
  • Visit hotels and restaurants after the event to spread out the demand for buses, taxis and ubers.

Event Bus Services
Special bus services to the venue will run on four dedicated routes in Bathurst, and be available every 25 minutes between 3:00pm and midnight on the day of the show.

Coaches
Designated parking for out-of-town coaches will be available adjacent to Learmonth Park on Sydney Road. Pedestrians are encouraged to walk along the designated footpath and cross at the traffic lights. See map

Taxis
A designated taxi rank will be in place on Howick Street, outside the entrance to the Armada Shopping Centre. See map

Uber
A designated Uber rank will be in place on William Street, between Howick Street and Sydney Road. See map

Parking
Concert-goers are urged to use public transport, Park and Ride options or walk to and from the venue. General CBD parking will be available, however, it will be impacted in some areas by road closures and designated taxi, uber and bus ranks. It is likely to be at capacity early in the afternoon.

Road Closures
Changes to traffic will be in place from Monday 20 January to Thursday 23 January.

Changes to traffic in the CBD will start from 6:00am on Wednesday 22 January.

Roads surrounding the precinct will begin to close from 6:00am, with all roads closed by 4:00pm. Road closures will affect normal trading for some businesses, so plan ahead. Click through for a full list of road closures.

Parking
Accessible parking will be available at the Armada Shopping Centre, on the Bentinck Street side. Please ensure that your vehicle displays a current temporary or individual Mobility Parking Scheme permit and your Australian Disability Parking Permit. See map

Accessible parking is also available at the Park and Ride locations, with accessible buses in circulation. 

Drop Off Point
An accessibility drop off point will be located at the Armada Shopping Centre. Enter off Bentinck Street.

Other

  • Gate B has an in-built footpath for accessibility patrons.
  • There will be accessible toilets located in the amenities to the East and West of the concert site.
  • Accessible ramps will be located through the Section A-B gates and the Section C gate (via the grandstand).

Box Office
Two box offices will operate on event day, located near Gate A on Howick Street, and Gate B on Durham Street.

The box offices open at 2:00pm on event days only.

Patrons are encouraged to collect their tickets in advance from a Ticketek agency. Visit the Ticketek website for a list of agency locations.

Pass-Outs
Pass-outs are not allowed for this event.

Ticket Reselling
Ticketek is the only authorised ticket seller for Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Carrington Park concert. No responsibility is accepted for tickets purchased from unauthorised sellers; these may be refused entry, no exceptions.

The re-sale of tickets in certain circumstances is governed by ticket sales legislation and may attract criminal penalties.

Reserved Seating Patrons
While reserved seating is available at this concert, please note that patrons may stand during the performance. Please be considerate of those around you and have a great night!

Standing On The Hill Patrons
We are expecting a capacity crowd for these shows, so ask everyone in the Standing On The Hill section to please be mindful of patrons around you. We want everyone to enjoy the show and have a great time! No chairs, blankets or cushions of any kind are permitted in the Standing On The Hill area.

Age Restrictions and Guidelines
All children under 18 years of age must remain in the company of a responsible adult at all times.

Chugg Entertainment does not recommend attendance at the event by children aged 5 years and under.

Mobile Tickets
Download your tickets to your Mobile Device before you arrive at the venue. Locate the link to your tickets in your confirmation email or SMS sent at time of purchase.

If you can’t locate your confirmation email or SMS, don’t worry, Ticketek will send you an SMS reminder with links to your mobile tickets on the morning of show.

Phone network congestion can cause delays upon entry, so as a back-up we recommend taking a screenshot of your tickets and storing them in your phone’s photo album.

Print-At-Home Ezytickets
If you selected Print-At Home, these would have already been sent to your inbox. Alternatively, you can also log into your online Ticketek order history to access your tickets and print from there.

This is a fully licensed and catered event and is strictly no BYO food or beverages (including water). This will be enforced by security at the entry gates.

A range of food and beverages will be available for purchase on site.

Photo ID
Proof of age photo ID is required to purchase and consume alcohol, and service will not be provided to patrons who are under 18 years of age or intoxicated. Acceptable ID is:

  • Current and valid Australian Photo Driver’s Licence or Learner’s Permit
  • Passport (either current or expired less than 2 years ago and has not been cancelled)
  • KEYPASS Photo ID Card or equivalent Proof of Age Card
  • Australian Birth Certificate (copy is okay) PLUS a Current Photo ID (e.g. student card). We must be able to verify both your age and your photo ID, we cannot accept one without the other.

Admission
The venue and promoter reserves the right to deny entry to and/or evict intoxicated patrons or under-age patrons found with alcohol. No alcohol can be removed from the concert site.

For your safety, security guards, RSA Marshals and police will be on site.

We recommend you get to the venue in good time before the start of the show, as extensive security screening will be in place at the point of entry.

Explosives sweeps will be conducted at the venue.

Please be aware that the following patrons may be denied entry to the event:

  • Any person deemed to be intoxicated and/or disorderly
  • Any person who does not comply with a request to conduct a bag search or security check
  • Any person who does not comply with a request from any authorised person including the organiser / promoter, venue staff, security, or regulatory bodies
  • No unauthorised/unlicensed vendors allowed

Two cloakrooms will operate on event day, located near Gate A on Howick Street, and Gate B on Durham Street.

The cost is $5 per item.

Please be aware that you can only access the cloakrooms from outside the venue, and pass-outs are not allowed.

As there are two cloakrooms in operation, you will only be able to collect items from the same cloakroom that you dropped off.

The concert will proceed rain or shine. Only exceptionally severe weather conditions will affect the performance so be prepared.

Umbrellas, tents and sun shades are not permitted in the venue, so bring a raincoat or poncho if inclement weather is predicted.

VIP package customers will be emailed further instructions in the week prior to the concert, so please keep an eye on the email address used when you purchased your event ticket(s).

Ticketek and Chugg Entertainment are unable to provide information on VIP Package redemption, so please contact EltonJohnVIP@aegpresents.com with any queries.

St John Ambulance will provide medical services on site and be situated within the grandstand building.

Smoking, including e-cigs and/or vapes, is permitted at Carrington Park, however, we ask everyone to be considerate of the health, safety and comfort of patrons around them.

We care for the environment and community. Please be respectful and place any litter in the bins provided around the venue. Be waste and water wise – thank you.
