YVES KLEIN BLUE ANNOUNCED AS NATIONAL SUPPORT

Yves Klein Blue are named after artist Yves Klein's famous IKB, a blue paint that does not lose its brilliance over time, forever appearing wet and freshly applied. The name is a metaphor for the bands aspiration to create music that will never fade with age.

After causing a stir with their performance at the St. Jeromes Laneway Festival, and sharing the stage with the likes of Ben Kweller & The Grates, Yves Klein Blue took off on a whirl wind tour across the northern hemisphere, spreading their clashy & infectious blend of classic pop, old punk, gypsy jazz and indie rock through LA, Austin, New York City & London. From the 4/4 tones of catchy lead single Polka to the fuzzy punk stylings of Silence Is Distance and to jaunty pop fuzz of Blasphemy, their debut EP “Draw Attention To Themselves” shows their wealth of influences – from Bowie and Lou Reed to Nirvana, The Clash and The Beatles without adhering to or regurgitating any particular genre. Now back on home turf they are heading out on the road with VHS OR BETA & are set to set the crowds raving all over again.

“Overall it’s a very classy beginning for Yves Klein Blue’s Dew Process career. Draw Attention To Themselves is an excellent snapshot of the band who have built themselves a first rate live reputation, and these four youngsters feel like veterans with no missteps to be seen on this six track EP. Fans of fun, dancey rock – your new favourite band has arrived.” Fasterlouder

“Within a couple of song’s time the sold-out room is dancing and jumping around so much that the floors are literally shaking beneath our feet. Tonight’s anarchy shows a promising future for YKB and this could well be one of those gigs that many punters will treasure with the pride of being able to say ‘I was there!’.” Time Off

The indie electronic band VHS or Beta are heading to Australia in June in support of their latest studio release, "Bring on the Comets."

"Bring on the Comets," is the band's third album in a career that has seen the group evolve from creating straight-ahead indie-rock and pop to experimental electronic dancehall rhythms.

"We didn't want to play to expectations based on what we've done in the past," guitarist/vocalist Craig Pfunder said in a press statement issued by the group.

"This was a chance for us to bring all of our musical tastes--from early on in our youth as well as our current environment--and incorporate them," Pfunder said of the new album, which was produced by Brandon Mason (David Bowie, Secret Machines). "So we do have a much more diverse offering, but one that paints a total picture that represents all of our musical passions in a cohesive way. Ultimately, the music will speak for itself."

Formed in 1997 in Louisville, Kentucky with a sound that combines elements of rock, French house and dance-punk.
Blender heralded them as one of rock’s “Best New Bands” and Rolling Stone named them an “Artist to Watch”.

VHS or Beta comprise of core members Craig Pfunder, guitarist, vocalist, Mark Palgy bassist and drummer Mark Guidry.
