DARDANELLES
REGRETTABLY ANNOUNCE
THEY ARE UNABLE TO TOUR WITH THE JD SET

DARDANELLES, one of the three winners of Round 1 of The JD Set have advised the organisers today that they are not able to take part in this national band initiative due to illness.

It is with sadness that the band released the following statement:

“It is with regret that we must announce today that we are unable to take part in The JD Set due to the serious illness of a band member. We would like to apologies to all the fans who were looking forward to coming to see us and take this opportunity to thank all involved in The JD Set for their support and understanding.”

Everyone involved with The JD Set wishes the band the best of luck and hopes they can work together again in the future.

With the first show of the tour taking place at Sydney’s Metro Theatre tomorrow night (Wednesday, 29 May, 2008), the promoters are currently locking in a replacement band and will use its best endeavours to keep the public updated.

The organisers thank you for your understanding in this difficult time.

Lost In Line to Play Wollongong

Lost in Line are a four piece melodic punk rock band from the shores of Wollongong who continue to belt out a style reminiscant of the mid to late 90's fat wreck/skate punk. Since establishing the current line-up in early 2006, Lost in Line have toured throughout Australia, leaving WA the only state yet to visit. Early 2005 saw the release of their debut EP "The Lost Letters", followed up in mid 2006 with 7 track EP "Voodoo Pins and Violins".

Lost In Line are stoked to have toured with Bodyjar and share the stage with No Use For A Name, The Matches, Behind Crimson Eyes, Something With Numbers, 28 Days, Kisschasy and many other top Aussie bands.

Their debut album "Smiles That Scream" has 12 new tracks and hit stores on 17th May through Adelaide independent label PEE RECORDS. It was also released in Japan on 3rd May by major label RADTONE MUSIC. It was recorded and mixed by Murray Adamson and mastered in Italy by Alessandro Vanara.

Calerway Joins The Bill In Perth

“I think there are two types of bands,” explains Calerway frontman Jaun Paul Rebola. “There are the bands that follow what has been done, do it very well and achieve success for the duration of a fad; and there are bands who create their own thing. Our intention has always been the latter.”

That philosophy alone explains the story of Calerway. The ‘who did what’, ‘who joined when’ details are no different than any other band’s, but their philosophy – their deliberate agenda of putting creativity before miniscule accruals – is as rare as it is precious.

And, thankfully, it resonated with people from the get-go. Within weeks of their debut performance, Calerway had become a household name in their hometown of Perth. An invented word that would forever be owned by its creators and its admirers;  the music and the philosophy binding it all together.

The band’s resume is more impressive than most, but it is of little consequence. Calerway’s music will explain more about the band than their list of achievements ever could, because that is why bands make music in the first place… to connect with other people, and to share a small part of the boundless beauty that is the human imagination.

In striving to create music that is unique, Calerway offer we, the listeners, a chance to be taken somewhere new. Somewhere special. Somewhere we can kick back, turn up the volume, and drift off.

Through lyrics and melody, Calerway’s music gives us the initial nudge, but where we drift off to is determined entirely by our own imagination. Where the music takes us depends on who we are and where we want to go.

So, kick back, turn up the volume, and drift off.

Enjoy yourself, and enjoy wherever the music takes you.
