COUNTRY MUSIC CHANNEL ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR BUSHFIRE RELIEF
In response to Australia’s greatest natural disaster, XYZnetworks’ Country Music Channel (“CMC”) announced today that it will donate $10 to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 for every ticket sold to CMC Rocks the Snowys Festival in Thredbo 6&7 March, including all tickets sold to date.
Announcing this support, XYZnetworks CEO, Bruce Mann said this unprecedented tragedy had touched all employees and called for immediate action.
“Like everyone around Australia, we have been deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic events that have befallen our community over the past week. Devastating fires are still burning throughout Victoria and New South Wales, and continue to affect more and more people.”
He continued, “CMC has always had a deep bond with Regional Australia and we are committed to doing everything we can, to assist these communities in their time of need. We urge everyone to dig deep and contribute to this Appeal.”
XYZnetworks employees are also supporting the bushfire appeal through an employee donation program, with all proceeds going to the Australian Red Cross.
XYZnetworks extends our thoughts and compassion to all those affected and to those in the community who are working tirelessly in response to this tragedy.
