2010 Phuket International Blues Rock Festival
Presented by THAI Airways International
The 2010 Phuket International Blues Rock Festival - February 26-27 hosted by Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa is now less than three months away.
The 2010 event will see 12 acts total with 8 international bands imported for the occasion, and our main headliner is the legendary blues artist Charlie Musselwhite and his great band. From the tiniest blues clubs to the world's biggest festivals, Charlie has played them all. Now he comes to Thailand for the first time, and Saturday February 27 he will play an exclusive concert closing our 2010 show. Featured along with everybody who's who in the blues world in Dan Aykroyd's hit movie "Blues Brothers 2000", Charlie is a 40+ year veteran with more than 20 albums, 18 W.C. Handy Awards and six Grammy nominations to his credit.
From Australia comes Richard Clapton, another legend, who has been a household name in that part of the world since 1975 when his hit song "Girls On The Avenue" soared on the Australian charts. 35 years later he is as popular as ever, and Friday February 26 he comes to Thailand exclusively to perform at the Festival.
From Malaysia comes AkashA; a top rated World Music band with a soulful theme. Famed Latino Blues meister Andy Gonzales (USA) joins us for the first time along with Robert (One Man) Johnson (USA) and Bangkok's Retrovision.
By popular demand Rich Harper (USA) will return along with KNiKi from Australia and Boy Blues Band from Chiang Mai. Our very own Tony Wilson and Rob Davies will also be back with a top notch band of a local but international crew.
We will also have a festival warm-up show February 25 at a suitable venue.
The 2008 and 2009 Festival DVDs are available to re-live the highlights of the last shows
