Jason Mraz’s Melbourne fans have been eagerly awaiting news of whether or not the San Diego song man would be adding any more shows in Melbourne, after the Palais Theatre show scheduled for Monday 20 April sold out within one hour of going on sale.

The wait is now over. A second show has been confirmed for Melbourne’s Festival Hall on the following night, Tuesday 21 April. Tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster at 9am, Tuesday 10 March.

Past tours have seen Mraz perform in Melbourne venues such as Manchester Lane, the Prince of Wales and the Forum, but on this, his sixth tour of Australia his profile and popularity has undeniably expanded thanks the success of his worldwide hit single “I’m Yours” and platinum selling album “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.” So much so that a step up to the Palais Theatre wasn’t enough to satisfy the many fans, old and new, wanting to experience critically acclaimed Jason Mraz live show first hand.

The newly announced Festival Hall show on Tuesday 21 April will provide a spectacular close to the April tour which also includes headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, festival performances at the Byron Bay and West Coast Blues and Roots Festivals and a one off performance at Adelaide’s Bonython Park with Jason’s Australian pals Missy Higgins and Bob Evans.

Mraz will be joined by his seven piece super band at all shows, a line up that includes his trusty percussionist and backing vocalist Toca Rivera, a staple of Mraz’s live show for almost a decade, as well as the more recent addition of keys and a horn section, making this a party not to be missed.

Also joining Mraz on his headline dates and at Adelaide’s Bonython Park will be fellow “Packed To The Rafters” success story Eric Hutchinson who’s catchy track “Rock & Roll”, is climbing the Australian charts and streaming through radio airwaves across the country. The two Californian singer songwriters also welcome Australian talent, Lisa Mitchell on tour for the East Coast headline shows.

Jason Mraz has sold out his Melbourne shows on every visit to Australia over the years, and if the rapid sell out of the Palais Theatre show is any indication, this second Melbourne show will be no exception.
