Not only has Michael and Chugg Entertainment established a renowned name within the music industry, but also in the broader sphere as a benefactor of many fundraising organisations, regularly donating time, money and talents to a myriad of events and charities:

  • Board Member of the Prince of Wales Children's Foundation
  • Member of the NSW Arts Advisory Council Board
  • Trustee of the Golden Stave Foundation committee, which holds the yearly Golden Stave Charity Luncheon. Through Golden Stave, Chugg has been instrumental in raising millions for the Paraquad Association, the Camperdown Children's Hospital, the Shepard Centre, Nordoff Robins and the Starlight Foundation.

Michael Chugg has organised numerous appeal concerts for charities such as:

  • 1983 Ash Wednesday Bushfire Appeal
  • 1983 Rock The Way To LA Olympic Appeal
  • 1998 Turn Back The Tide concert - to save Bondi Beach
  • The National Drug Offensive Concerts
  • The Odyssey House Drug Rehab Program
  • 1985 Australian co-ordinator for Bob Geldof's Live Aid concert
  • 1985 Chugg co-ordinated the Newcastle Earthquake Appeal concert, raising $941,000
  • 1992 alongside actors Brian Brown and Rachel Ward and Doug Mulray, organised 'Bush Bash' for the Sydney City Mission, raising $550,000
  • 1994 whilst GM at Frontier Touring, Chugg co-ordinated the Bushfire concert at Sydney Football Stadium featuring Sting, Bryan Adams and Jimmy Barnes that raised $700,000 for Ian Kiernan's Clean Up Australia, The National Parks & Wildlife Foundation and the Community Disaster Relief Fund.
  • 1996 Chugg co-ordinated the Crowded House Farewell to the World Concert on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House and raised over $500,000 for Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick. The event was the biggest free concert ever in Sydney with over 300,000 people in attendance.
  • 2001 The Universal Bushfire Appeal featuring Bon Jovi, Jimmy Barnes, Grinspoon, The Mavis's, Primary and Zed.
  • 2001 Ted Mulry Benefit night including John Paul Young and the Allstars, Billy Thorpe, Kevin Borich, Richard Clapton (with members of INXS), Ross Wilson (with Members of the Angels), Russell Morris, Gina Jeffreys, Marty Rhone, Tim Freedman (The Whitlams), The Radiators, TMG, Sherbet, Rose Tattoo, Autumn, The Radiators, Noiseworks and Adam Brand.
  • In 2005 Wave Aid raised over $2.3 million for the tsunami relief effort and brought together great Australian musicians such as Pete Murray, Kasey Chambers, Powderfinger and even inspired Peter Garrett to reform Midnight Oil for this extra special event.
  • In July 2007 Chugg Entertainment was involved with coordinating the Australian leg of the Live Earth concert series, aimed at increasing worldwide awareness of the global warming and environmental crisis, featuring Wolfmother, Crowded House, Jack Johnson and Missy Higgins among others.
